200 Series Toyota Landcruiser Dual Cab Conversions & Chassis Extensions

At CAPPA Motor Bodies, we have invested in third party engineering, extensive safety research and testing along with specialised training and equipment.  This enables us to competently and safely conduct industry leading chassis extensions converting each of the 200 series Toyota Landcruiser wagon variants into a versatile dual cab utility.

Chassis Extensions

Using our Globaljig Chassis bench and Car-O-Liner digital measuring system, we are able to conduct precision installation of 700MPa advanced High-Strength Steel chassis extensions, lengthening the 200 Series Chassis by 650mm. This allows provision for a tray measuring up to 2000mm by 2000mm.

All welding is conducted by certified tradesmen with current welding qualifications. The chassis extensions are crafted with advanced high strength steel using specialised wire and welding gas.

All modifications have been third party engineered and safety tested and are independently inspected and certified on completion.

As a part of our service, all brake lines, handbrake cables, fuel lines, exhaust and wiring looms are also extended and certified by trained technicians. Tail shafts are extended and balanced with a centre-bearing installed by industry experts.

Cabin Modifications

The 200 Series Landcruiser Cabin is cut down to form a dual-cab configuration.

All SRS airbag equipment and cabin safety features are retained, upgraded or replaced to ensure the structural integrity and occupant protection systems are maintained. This includes the provision of 3 child restraint anchor bolt points.

Inspection and testing of occupant restraints and anti-intrusion features ensures all safety aspects are maintained upon completion.

Certification

All Chassis modifications and extensions are independently inspected and certified by third party licensed automotive engineers and comply with all Australian Standards. 3-Dimensional chassis blueprints are produced for each individual vehicle.

Certified GVM upgrades to 3800 kilograms are also available and are conducted by licensed specialists.

The costs associated with this exercise vary greatly and depend on the model along with which of the many personalised available options are chosen; a very general figure as of May 2017:

Conversion only starts from $19,000.00

Conversion with Chassis extension and associated extras start from $31,000.00
